So since it wasn’t raining today, I thought I’d go take some birds pics. Long story short- I spent the afternoon in the ER.
While I was shooting this Red-shouldered Hawk I was bitten by some ants. 10 minutes later I was swelling up and had hives. I went to ER, they took me right away. My eyes, ears and mouth was swollen.
Damn ants. Anyway, they took care of me and I’m OK now.
Taken with Canon 70D with 100-400mm L II IS lens @300mm, f6.3, 1/400 sec 200 ISO.
The Osprey hawk visited today and sat and posed for me.
I love the detail in his/her feathers. Also I love the death stare.
There are 3 Osprey that fly around in our area. This one sat while the other 2 were flying high above.
This was taken with Canon 70D with Canon 100-400mm II L lens.

The local Osprey hawk came by this morning with breakfast (a fish). He/she likes to sit on the edge of the roof outside our bedroom.
I wish it wasn’t so cloudy. This would’ve looked great against a blue sky showing off the feathers.

We had a visitor this past weekend.
A full grown red-shouldered hawk. He/she hung out for a few minutes.
Gave me enough time to shoot a few frames.
Look at him checking me out.
I took this where I used to work, Fitch.
I was about 10 feet away. Close enough.
“The early bird gets the worm…” or something like that.
Here the hawk gets the gecko instead of a worm.
